Our children should see in us, as parents and grandparents, the joy of the Lord. They should know why we do what we do with them. It’s all for God’s glory. John Piper has some encouragement for parents (and grand parents!) on how to show our children that life isn’t about God’s Do’s and Don’t’s, but instead, it’s about Him.
This last link is a book recommendation. Voddie Baucham’s book Family Driven Faith has been one of the most powerful and encouraging books on parenting that I have ever read. I would highly recommend it!
