The writer beckons sinners to come look at Jesus there, as if they were actually there in that moment when He was bearing the wrath of God for us. And when, by faith, we behold such a display of grace, we will exclaim along with the writer: “Oh the wonder of this awesome scene, where our Savior bleeds! Oh the power of the love of the God. Come and stand in awe!”
