This week we celebrate the glorious work of God on our behalf by the Lord Jesus Christ’s once and for all sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection. Because of a sinless Substitute, a bloody cross, and an empty tomb, we who deserve hell have received surprising grace!
We want to shout this message from the mountain tops!
We want to tell the religious who are trusting their rituals and ceremonies that there is only One who has merit, and that He gives His righteousness to the ones who don’t work, but believe (Rom. 4:5, 10:3,4).
We want to speak to those in the clutches of sin and debauchery about God’s great power to save to the uttermost (Heb. 7:25).
We desire to speak publicly and privately, in season and out of season about God’s holiness, man’s depravity and God’s angry wrath on all sin, and how that in unfathomable kindness He let His wrath fall on His own Son so that the likes of us could go free!
Hallelujah!! What a Savior!!
We urge all prodigals to come home. There is “bread enough and to spare” at the Father’s house. It was secured for you by the Father’s only Son. Will you come to your senses and arise and go to Him?
We call to all who have stumbled and fallen to stop trying to justify yourself and your unique circumstances and agree with God (See 1 Jn. 1:9 where “confess” is ‘homologeo’–literally ‘same word’) about your sin. God forgives sinners not victims, and this forgiveness was very costly–so costly that when we could not pay, God Himself stepped in and paid for it Himself!
We warn those who are lukewarm and nominal ‘Christians’–Has this old, old story ever really sunk down into your heart and wrought by Divine power a miracle in you? Are there proofs that your faith is genuine?
We warn all scoffers and triflers–“How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation..?”
